Australia Awards Scholarships (AAS) are awarded to Vietnamese citizens working in government agencies and Vietnamese lecturers, researchers, staff of NGOs and companies to study a master's program at Australian universities in 2023.
Australian Government Scholarship candidates will enjoy a world-class education in Australia, gain knowledge, skills and build networks in many fields.
The program encourages the participation of female candidates, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities, people in disadvantaged rural areas, and people from economically and socially disadvantaged groups. Candidates are judged on their leadership qualities, academic record and ability to help address Vietnam's development challenges, while promoting relations between Vietnam and Australia.
“I am delighted to hear that Australia will also be offering 10 ASEAN scholarships for the academic year 2023. This is an enhanced scholarship, announced in recognition of the newly established Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Australia and In addition to the benefits provided by the scholarship program, ASEAN scholarship recipients will be honored to participate in academic programs and networking in the development focus of the Indo-Pacific Young Leaders Program," said Australian Ambassador Ms. Robyn Mudie.
To date, the Australian government has awarded more than 6,000 AAS scholarships to Vietnamese citizens to study in Australia. After returning, many alumni have taken up leadership positions in government, private enterprises, academia, NGOs, and the local community.
Australian Government Scholarship alumni have contributed to the development of Vietnam in many fields from medical research, environmental management, engineering, women's economic empowerment and social protection. In recent times, many alumni have also played an important role in helping control the Covid-19 epidemic.
